Qualifications
If you are interested in a job at PJ’s, the following are common qualifications we look for when hiring new members of our team:
High School Diploma or Equivalent:
This is the minimum educational requirement.
First Aid and CPR Certification
This is essential because you'll be working with children.
Background Check
Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills
Our teachers need to be able to communicate effectively with children, parents, and other staff members. They also need to be able to build relationships with children and create a positive learning environment.
Patience, Stamina, and Energy
Working with children can be demanding, so our teachers need to be patient, have stamina, and be able to handle a lot of energy.
Love of Children
This is perhaps the most important qualification for any member of our team. Our teachers need to have a genuine love of children and be passionate about helping them learn and grow.
Volunteer First
This is a great way to get experience working with children and to learn more about our industry.
In addition to these general qualifications, we’d love to evaluate any experience you have working with children, knowledge of specific curriculum, or the ability to speak a second language.
